Check local conditions before you go.*************************************Whitehouse Dam and Lake Tyler are in the Neches River Basin in Smith County, 12 miles southeast of Tyler on Prairie Creek, a tributary of Mud Creek, which is tributary to the Angelina River, which in turn is tributary to the Neches River. Lake Tyler is southeast of Tyler off Texas 64.

The City of Tyler operates five boat ramps and several public parks on the shores of these lakes. The Lake Tyler Marina, located on Lake Tyler West in Concession Area #1, charges a small fee to launch; all other ramps are free. Fritz & Opal's Barge, on the water near Old #2, offers fishing access for a fee, and bank access is available at several locations. Two public ramps and a county-maintained boat launch offer access to Lake Tyler East. Primitive camping is allowed in all city parks on a first-come, first-serve basis.
